Who Am I?

Hi, I’m André Daus, and I’ve spent my life taking things apart—first computers, then businesses, then conventional thinking.

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by how things work, especially IT systems. I took computers apart, experimented, broke things, and fixed them again. Later, I moved into banking because I figured money would always be relevant. But my real passion was understanding businesses, people, and their thought processes—just like why the world works the way it does. This drive led me to consulting, including years at IBM, where I learned how big firms apply cookie-cutter solutions. That approach never sat well with me. I ask questions—often the uncomfortable ones. While my bosses didn’t always appreciate that, my clients did. Eventually, I realized I could do better on my own, so I started my own business 15 years ago, free to challenge norms and expose the flaws in "business as usual.“ Or in other words: question everything.

Why This Podcast

I started this Podcast, because the world is drowning in noise, mediocrity, and herd mentality, I challenge the status quo. Iconoclast Insights is for those who refuse to accept the present status as it is, who are willing to question, rethink, and reshape their perspectives. My clients kept asking, “What’s your stance on this? What’s your perspective?” So now, I’m sharing it—raw, unfiltered, and often contrarian.

I’m not a traditional consultant or coach. If you want coaching, find a coach. If you need advice, get a trusted advisor. If you want solutions, go to a consulting agency. But what if you need all of the above? That’s where I come in.

What to Expect

Expect ideas that challenge comfort zones. I’m not here to spoon-feed you the same tired advice you’ll find in every business book. You won’t get cozy, sugar-coated platitudes. Instead, I’ll dissect conventional wisdom and show you why most people and businesses are stuck in cycles of self-sabotage.

I won’t just discuss business—I’ll cover politics, society, psychology, and beyond. I won’t hold back, but I will remain objective. If you’re thin-skinned or looking for an echo chamber, this isn’t for you. But if you thrive on independent thought, this might be exactly what you need.

The Format

Mostly, it’ll be just me—digging into complex topics, stripping away the fluff, and getting to the core. Occasionally, I’ll have conversations (not interviews—conversations) with people who bring real substance. If I bring on a guest, it’s because they have something worth saying, not because they’re making the rounds on every other podcast. And yes, those conversations will be on video for those who prefer to watch. For now, the plan is a weekly podcast, possibly with occasional bonus episodes. Solo episodes will be 10–15 minutes. Conversations may be longer but will be split if necessary to keep them digestible.

Will this be different?

Absolutely. Because I don’t do corporate consulting templates. I don’t recycle mainstream narratives. And I don’t cater to the masses. I believe most businesses already have the knowledge they need—what they lack is the courage to act on it. The way companies handle remote work post-COVID is a great example. Many insist on returning to old models, ignoring the reality that productivity doesn’t always hinge on office presence.

That’s where I jump in: challenging assumptions, exposing blind spots, and cutting through the noise. Expect thought-provoking discussions that might push you out of your comfort zone. If you’re intrigued by fresh perspectives and disruptive thinking, you’ll feel at home here.
